A letter to our readers
From Koh Samui, Barcelona, Miami and New York
Dear reader,
Some houses are bought. Others are received, like a letter one keeps.
We work only in places the world will not make again: a hillside above the Gulf of Thailand, a slope over the Mediterranean, a shoreline on Biscayne Bay, a window over Central Park. We build there with a light hand, following the land, keeping its trees, letting shade and breeze do their quiet work.
Each residence is made to measure, the way a couturier dresses a single client. Natural materials only, of the rarest grade, chosen to last a century rather than a season.
Before anything is shown to you, independent counsel has examined every title. Every acquisition then follows, to the letter, the law of the country in which the residence stands: its rules on foreign ownership, its identity and anti-money-laundering checks, its licensed professionals and its declarations. Nothing is ever arranged around the law, only within it.
Should you wish to finance an acquisition, we introduce you to private banks who know each market. And from the first visit to the day the keys are placed in your hand, one person remains at your side.
We accept only a few residences, presented privately and never advertised. Not as a promise of return, but as what they truly are: rare places, to be held for generations.
With our respect,
Nancy Bogaert
